Monthly TBR

March 2021 TBR!

Hello!

This year, I’m aiming to read 3 books a month, so that I can achieve my goal of 36 books in 2021! I’ve never really planned my next books in advance, apart from knowing what my next book will be during the last 100 pages of my current read, to motivate me even more! Let’s see if I stick to any of these goals this year!

This month, I am going to be reading the two books that I didn’t get round to reading/finishing in February and a new book, which I’ve recently started reading.

The Mysterious Affair at Styles – Agatha Christie

‘Beware! Peril to the detective who says: “It is so small – it does not matter . . . ” Everything matters.’

After the Great War, life can never be the same again. Wounds need healing, and the horror of violent death banished into memory.

Captain Arthur Hastings is invited to the rolling country estate of Style to recuperate from injuries sustained at the Front. It is the last place he expects to encounter murder. Fortunately he knows a former detective, a Belgian refugee, who has grown bored of retirement . . .

Average rating on Goodreads: 3.98⭐

Cinder – Marissa Meyer

A FORBIDDEN ROMANCE.

A DEADLY PLAGUE.

EARTH’S FATE HINGES ON ONE GIRL . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic in New Beijing, is also a cyborg. She’s reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s sudden illness. But when her life becomes entwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s she finds herself at the centre of a violent struggle between the desires of an evil queen – and a dangerous temptation.

Cinder is caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal. Now she must uncover secrets about her mysterious past in order to protect Earth’s future.

THIS IS NOT THE FAIRY TALE YOU REMEMBER.

BUT IT’S ONE YOU WON’T FORGET.

Average rating on Goodreads: 4.13⭐

Holding Up the Universe – Jennifer Niven

You are wanted.

You are necessary.

You are loved.

Everyone thinks they know Libby Strout, but no one’s ever looked past her weight to see who she really is. Since her mum’s death, Libby’s been hiding, but now she’s ready for high school.

I want to be the girl who can do anything.

Everyone thinks they know Jack Masselin too – sexy, aloof and too cool for school. But Jack’s swaggering confidence is hiding a secret he must keep at all costs.

Be charming. Be hilarious. Don’t get too close to anyone.

Then Jack meets Libby. And their worlds change.

Because sometimes when you meet someone, the whole universe just comes into focus.

Average rating on Goodreads: 3.86⭐

These are the books that I am aiming to read this month. As I’ve got many unread books/series on my bookshelf, I have selected my monthly reads through random selection.

Have you decided what books you’re reading this month? Do you plan your reading in advance? Or do you just choose your next book as you go along? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you for reading this post.

  1. Usually don’t have a month TBR post. Still in the middle of two books started in February that wasn’t finished. This post interested me for two reasons- 1) I love Agatha Christie and 2) one of my posts for today was related to retellings
