IT’S PUBLICATION DAY!!! I’m so excited to read Death Sets Sail, even though I don’t want this series to be over.

Here are my predictions for Death Sets Sail:

• There will probably be some similarities with First Class Murder, as they are travelling in an unfamiliar location, with unfamiliar people. Like in First Class Murder, there will probably be some spiritualism and seances (maybe of the victim??). As the victim is found stabbed in her cabin, this could be a locked-room mystery, which would make it a very complicated and difficult mystery.
• One of the Detective Society will die 😢. This has been on my mind since I first read the blurb. I have several theories based on some situations that the Detective Society could find themselves in. Daisy is more likely to act impulsively, and put herself in danger without thinking, but Hazel would rescue her if her life was to be in danger. If one of them have to sacrifice themselves for the other, it could be either of them that would sacrifice themselves for the other. But if either of the Detective Society does die, then I know that it won’t be without a fight from the Detective Society, the Junior Pinkertons, Amina, Hazel’s family and anyone else that cares about the Detective Society. When writing this part, I’ve just had the thought that Daisy or Hazel could be the second victim (I hope this isn’t true!). But, maybe on the optimistic side, one of the girls decides to live in Egypt, so they technically never make it home to Deepdean? Or they have to make a bet where in trade for solving the case one of the girls has to join the Breath of Life Society/live in Egypt forever??
• There will be a double/triple murder. It seems to be that murders become more complicated when there are more mysteries to solve within the larger case (like First Class Murder/Death in the Spotlight/Top Marks for Murder), so this might be why the murder is so complicated.

And now some things that are typical of a Murder Most Unladylike mystery:

• An inexperienced Police Officer/Inspector/Detective will be put on the case. This has happened in almost every book in this series, so it is highly likely that this will happen again, especially if Inspector Priestley is not around.
• The wrong person will initially be framed. This is already outlined in the blurb – but I’m sure that the Detective Society will find who the murderer is and bring justice to the case.
• There will be rivalry in solving the case. Whether the Detective Society are up against the Junior Pinkertons, the Police or both, rivalry is very common in the Murder Most Unladylike series.
• The Detective Society will initially rule out the murderer. Like in Arsenic for Tea, Jolly Foul Play and A Spoonful of Murder, the Detective Society believed that the murderer was not in the right place/didn’t have the opportunity/didn’t have a motive to commit the murder. But with more detecting and interviewing, they worked out who the murderer was and solved the case.

So here are my predictions for Death Sets Sail. I can’t wait to read it!!! It does feel strange that this series is ending, almost five years since I first read Murder Most Unladylike. But I know that this series will go out with a bang, and Death Sets Sail will be an amazing book to read.
